the why behind what we do

Our mission is to bridge the gap between local employers seeking to make a genuine difference and individuals striving for positive change in their lives. Many employers in our city are eager to support and engage with individuals embarking on transformative life journeys but are uncertain about how to do so. Simultaneously, countless individuals are determined to redefine their narratives, even if they’ve been labeled with terms like “re-entry” or “homelessness” in the past.

 

We play a pivotal role in this equation by guiding those who are either stepping into the workforce for the first time or returning after a hiatus. By equipping them with the necessary skills, we ensure their success in the workplace. This training not only instills confidence in our partnering employers but also empowers individuals to value their work, themselves, and the opportunity to pave a sustainable future for their families.

The Advance! Process

At Advance!, our goal is to guide individuals from challenging backgrounds towards stable employment, while connecting employers with committed, long-term team members. Here’s how:

Training

The journey begins with our 30-hour training, designed to endow individuals with the skills vital for employment success. A graduation certificate and a passed final exam are clear indicators that they’re set to excel as key contributors to our partner’s teams.

Connection

After graduation, we facilitate the next crucial step by connecting our graduates with our local partner employers for potential interview and employment opportunities.

03

Follow-up

After our graduates are employed by a partner, we actively engage for 90 days, providing continued support and follow-up.
